Big smartphone launches in 2022 are yet to come! Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a few high-end phones as well as a slew of mid-range phones gracing our market. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series was the biggest launch yet, with some announcements from Oppo, iQOO and Realme. However, 2022 has just begun and there is still a lot to explore. And meanwhile, we are expecting some big launches that will eventually come to India.

Note that we’re only considering some of the high-end phones from the biggest names in the industry. The iPhone 14 is one of the biggest we’re expecting this year, with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 also expected to make a splash in the foldable smartphone world. So let’s take a look at some of the best options out there.

The BIG smartphone launches we expect in 2022

iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 will be the next big upgrade to the hugely popular iPhone 13. With the launch still six months away, rumors and leaks have suggested that the iPhone 14 may finally get a 120 refresh rate display. Hz of the iPhone 13 Pro series. iPhone 14 Max

Same as iPhone 14 but bigger! The iPhone 14 Max will replace the iPhone 13 Mini but with a bigger screen. This phone could also have a higher price.

iPhone 14 Pro

The iPhone 14 Pro would mark the next major evolution in the world of iPhones. The display notch could disappear for a pill-shaped cutout for the TruDepth camera system. The main rear camera is expected to use a custom 48MP sensor to deliver more detail and better overall performance. A faster chipset should also be present on the Pro variant.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Rumors have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 could become a polished variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 as Samsung wants to make the phone lighter. Some even say the Fold 4 will have its S Pen hidden inside the body of the phone, just like the Galaxy S22 Ultra. We could also see improved rear cameras and an under-screen front camera on the main display. This phone could be the benchmark for other foldables.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra

The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be Xiaomi’s next big flagship that could rival the Samsung S22 Ultra. Leaks already suggest the phone will have a similar camera setup to last year, minus the rear viewfinder, and possibly use Sony sensors this year instead of the Samsung GN5 sensor we saw on iQOO. 9 Pro.

Google Pixel 6A

Not the most ambitious phone here, but the Pixel 6A might finally be a new Pixel device that Google might launch in India after the Pixel 4A. Rumors suggest the Pixel 6A could use the same Tensor chip as the Pixel 6 and even borrow its camera sensors. The display could be limited to a 60Hz OLED panel and the battery life could also be less.
